The island of Ios is characterized by a temperate Mediterranean climate, it is the typical climate of the islands of Greece characterized by hot and very dry summers and mild and rainy winters.

A short spring characterized by moderate temperatures is followed by a long and hot summer, mitigated in the afternoon by the sea breeze and the breath of the Meltemi, a wind of northern origin typical of the Greek islands that blows constantly during the summer.
