Tierra del Fuego: a wonderful region

The city of Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego is characterized by a cold climate all year round, snow is present until the end of September and in summer temperatures never exceed 20 degrees.

However the Ushuaia area is ideal for the more adventurous, for lovers of walking in the mountains. Because in the valleys and in the mountains from the area the landscape has remained intact and there is an incredible amount of lakes hidden among its mountains.

The peaks of the mountains of Tierra del Fuego do not exceed 1,500 meters in height. However most of the mountains start a few meters from the sea. This means that, in general, the slope is quite heavy, giving value to every walk that becomes a great adventure in these places.

PATHS AT THE END OF THE WORLD

The Andorra Valley, for example, is the place where many paths of varying difficulty begin.

By accessing through the entrance located at the bottom of the valley, where the marsh meets, we can venture along two classic paths which are: the Encantada lagoon and the lagoon de los Tempanos. Halfway, the path that leads to the two lakes branches out and this is an excellent excursion to do during a day starting from the bottom of the valley.

For the more adventurous, the Caminante lagoon is an itinerary that requires about 5 hours of walking. In general, the path is well marked and you can enjoy the beauty of the woods that the path crosses. As icing on the cake, once we arrive at the lagoon, if the legs still support us, we can continue and see the lagoon of the Caminante superior …

Each step you take and each step takes us to the different lakes that follow one another in the shape of a staircase make us feel truly incredible the landscape around us. This land trampled by few, enhances at all times all the wonders that we have before our eyes.

Tierra del Fuego is an inhospitable region, with a city, Ushuaia, which does not exceed 100,000 inhabitants and still retains the magic of those corners of the world to live and enjoy the simple things in life! Come and find out!

THE PROJECT

Caminando Tierra del Fuego” is a personal project, with the idea of showing above all the photographs that I have taken for almost 4 years that I live in Ushuaia. At the same time I want to share with you all the enormity and beauty of the landscapes among the many mountains, among the many valleys, to go beyond the traditional, so that everyone is encouraged to discover the most hidden corners of this beautiful region.
