May is one of the best months to visit Italy. In this month there are mild and pleasant temperatures that allow you to visit in the best possible way the countless cities of art and the various landscapes of the peninsula from Tuscany to Sardinia, from Sicily to the Dolomites. The other countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea also enjoy an excellent climate this month: Greece with its islands, the interior of Spain (including Andalusia), the islands of Malta and Cyprus, Turkey and Israel.

May is also excellent for visiting Portugal with its historic villages, the Azores, Madeira and also the Canary Islands and the Balearics in Spain. Still in the Atlantic the islands of Cape Verde have an arid desert-like climate throughout the year, which is a guarantee for beautiful sunny days and a sun-tanned skin.

The countries of southern Africa like South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola and Zambia are a good destination for a trip at this time of the year. In this part of Africa the dry season begins in May. The Northern Territory of Australia has also its dry season that lasts until September.

In May in California in the Unites States of America, but also most of the other states of the US-Southwest have a pleasant climate that allows you to visit the main National Parks in the area without having the large turnout of tourists of the following months. In this month the areas of the desert plateaus located in Chile, in the Argentine, in Bolivia and Peru have a transition climate that makes it a favourable time for a visit.
