SPAIN: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Hospital medical care in Spain is good across the country. To receive medical assistance it is necessary to present the European Health Insurance Card. As in any trip abroad, it is recommended to take out supplementary travel and health insurance, they cost on average 50 Euros per person and make the trip much more easy in case of problems.
The Spanish health service has a dense network of health centers and hospitals, distributed across the nation. If circumstances require, medical assistance can be provided in the patient’s home.
