The fauna and flora of Greenland

Greenland is a land, largely frozen and inhospitable, but teeming with life (flora and fauna) along the coast and in its cold waters. This is the ideal place to admire whales, but also to observe arctic birds or simply to admire the low vegetation that every year fights against the hostile climate of this part of the world. Greenland is an inhospitable but beautiful land.

Greenland’s avian fauna is rich, including gulls, terns, guillemots and cormorants. If you are lucky you can spot arctic foxes, hares and ptarmigans. In the sea it is possible to admire whales (Balaena mysticetus) and humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). Killer whales (Orcinus orca) are also sometimes sighted.

To admire the queens of the fauna of Greenland, the whales, boat excursions are organized, which usually allow you to admire not only the whales but also the scenic wonders of this polar territory, which is also the largest island on planet Earth.

If, on the other hand, you decide to take a walk along the coast or inland, you will have the opportunity to admire the characteristic Arctic vegetation, in particular mosses and lichens, but also flowers that characterize the flora of this part of the world.
