Bahrain climate: when to go to Bahrain

The country has a desert and arid climate with prevailing winds from the north-west. The months from June to September are very hot and humid with temperatures during the day that can exceed 40°C. Better is the climate during the winter months between December and March with average maximum temperatures between 20°C and 25°C.

The average maximum temperatures vary between 20°C in January and 38°C in August, the average minimum temperatures vary between 14°C in January and 30°C in August, the difference in temperatures between day and night is quite high.

The very few rains, Bahrain has an average of only 10 days of rain in a year, falling in the winter months, the average annual rainfall is about 75 mm. The rainiest months are December, January, February and March during which there are on average 1 or 2 days of rain per month.

The summers in Bahrain are very dry and very hot, during the summer months of June and July, the Shamal wind from the desert of Saudi Arabia causes sandstorms that reduce visibility drastically.

The temperature of the sea water is very hot and it varies between 33 ° C in August and 21 ° C in February.
