FALKLAND ISLANDS: DOCUMENTS
Documents: To visit the Falkland Islands it is necessary to have a passport with residual validity of at least six months at the time of entry into the country. Even children and minors must have a personal passport.
All tourists are required to demonstrate, on arrival that they have round-trip tickets or safe accommodation and sufficient funds to cover their expenses during their stay (Visa or Mastercard credit cards will be accepted as proof of funds).

FALKLAND ISLANDS: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Healthcare: In the islands there are qualified doctors, dentists and medical staff with hospital facilities to meet the needs of the community and any contingencies that may arise. The capital, Stanley has a modern hospital, fully equipped for accidents and with emergency facilities.
Given the far distance of the islands, it is advisable to take out health insurance which includes, in addition to covering medical expenses, also the eventual repatriation of emergency medical aircraft.
Vaccinations: Vaccinations are not required.
FALKLAND ISLANDS: MOBILE PHONES AND INTERNET
Telephones: The direct international dialing code for the Falkland Islands is 00500. Cable and Wireless South Atlantic Ltd offers fixed broadband telephony services.
Mobile Phones: The technology used in the Falklands mobile network is GSM. The mobile phone network covers a large area of the island of East Falkland and coverage at Fox Bay and Port Howard on the island of West Falkland.
Mobile operators: Sure.
Internet: The Internet is widely used.
FALKLAND ISLANDS: POWER PLUGS AND ELECTRIC SOCKETS
Electricity: The electricity to the Falkland Islands is 240 Volts, 50 Hz.
Electrical outlets: The power plugs and sockets used on the Falkland Islands are G-type. They are the same power plugs and sockets used in the UK. So in order not to have problems it is necessary to have a universal adapter.
FALKLAND ISLANDS: CURRENCY AND BANKS
Currency: The currency unit of the Falklands is the Falklands Pound (FKP) which has parity with the British Pound. The British Pound also circulates freely on the islands. Visa and Mastercard credit cards are widely accepted. There are no automatic machines (Bamcomat) on the islands for dispensing money. The Falklands currency cannot be exchanged in other currencies outside the islands.
Banks: Bank opening hours are as follows: Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 15.00.
