Bremgarten is a small village located just 20 km west of Zurich in the canton of Aargau. The town has a very suggestive medieval historic center (Altstadt) located on a hill above the Reuss river and along the river, there are beautiful buildings in Gothic and Baroque style, the river is crossed by an ancient covered wooden bridge, the Reussbrücke. Parts of the medieval walls and the Spittelturm, a 16th-century gate tower, are still visible, while at the highest point in the village is Schlössli, the 13th-century medieval castle. The Bremgarten Christmas Market is one of the most famous in Switzerland.
BREMGARTEN CHRISTMAS MARKET
1) Bremgarten Christmas Market (Weihnachts und Christchindli-Märt in Bremgarten). This market takes place in the historic center and hosts over 300 stalls dedicated to handicrafts, gifts and gastronomy. The town is decorated with a multitude of Christmas trees, you will find a large Ferris wheel, the Advent calendar and many other events. The program for children is enriched with fairy tales, a treasure hunt, a zoo for small animals, pony rides, a life-size crib and finally Santa Claus will also be present for the entire duration of the market.
